The nicest Beetle thats ever passed through my hands.
63 L478 Beryl Green. Rare Green On Green trim.
I will let the photographs do the talking but here are a few points.
This car was imported from Washington where it was originally owed an American pilot. It was then bought by Reinoud Valk in the Netherlands he recommissioned the car to a very high standard lowered it and changed the wheels (I am very impressed by his attention to detail and overall work). He used the car very little but took it to Le Bus Show in Spa where it instantly won a top 20 award. The car was then sold to Belgium where it was tinkered with and tided up a little and then put in as a part exchange on my ex panel van (Canada Dry).
My plan was to sell this car straight away to get where Im going regarding funding my next bus but we delayed it a couple of weeks because we were slowly falling in love with it and trying to work out a way to keep it. Unfortunately I just cant afford to keep it so here it is, a once in a life time opportunity to own one of the best survivor VWs ive ever seen.
This car is unbelievably solid and straight, the sunburnt paint is all original apart form a light blow on the bottom in of two wings, a strange point on the car is the blue coming through underneath the bonnet on one taillight shell, this is 100% original to the car and these are not replacement panels. When the factory ran out of panels in a certain colour they would just paint over another, this is not the only Beryl green car with blue showing underneath sunburnt paint.
All the door/bonnet/lid gaps are perfect and the shut like it just left the factory, all window and door seals have been replaced where necessary.
This car has been worked through in great detail and all works as it should including the 12v electrics, the 1200 motor is bone dry with zero end float, the gear shift is silky smooth. Up front it has a new 6 narrowed beam on air shocks which run off a compressor neatly tucked away underneath the bonnet and connected to the knob on the ashtray. The car has a good lock left to right and drives exceptionally well, in fact the most comfortable ride in a slammed car Ive ever driven.
As you can see by the photos the interior has a similar patina to the out side with a couple of small tears in the front seat and headliner. The car also comes with superb condition original green door cards and rubber mat set.
It is currently registered in Belgium but Im or than happy to register it in the UK for the new owner.
This car requires no work and is ready to be enjoyed. It really is as good as it looks in every way, you will not be disappointed.
